Charlie Knows
British Trench coat and side cap costume for kids. Men who fought in the trenches during the Great War often wore a long trench coat to help keep themselves clean and warm, this was a lot harder to do than say and condition in the trenches during the First world war. Men who were unable to fight on the front during the war patroled in the Home Guard at home making sure lights were out and people were safe. Through dressing up in clothes, similar to those children and adults wore in the Second World War, children have the chance to gain specific knowledge of evacuation, rationing and the Blitz. Our home front costume to represent the adults who stayed on the Home Front to keep Britain running.
